OPERATION & MAINTENANCE

We manage bioenergy plants with a comprehensive approach: availability, operational efficiency, environmental control, and long-term measurable results.

We turn each plant into a living, safe energy solution, aligned with your industrial and environmental objectives.
At ENSO, operating a biomass plant goes far beyond ensuring continuous operation: it involves optimizing overall energy performance, minimizing process-related emissions, ensuring operational availability under all load conditions, and maximizing the conversion of every ton of biomass into useful energy with the highest possible efficiency.
Building on consolidated experience from assets like the Garray Bioelectric Plant, we implement an advanced operation model based on real-time monitoring of critical variables, predictive and scheduled maintenance, byproduct valorization systems, and full traceability of fuel and energy flows. This approach leverages industrial digitalization tools, standardized operational protocols, and a continuous improvement strategy that integrates technical, economic, and environmental criteria.
OPERATION MODEL
What do our Operation and Maintenance services consist of?

Comprehensive Operation of the Energy Cycle

At ENSO, we approach the operation of energy facilities with a global and strategic vision. Our comprehensive operation phase ensures the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of each asset, optimizing technical and economic performance over time.
We operate each plant with specialized personnel and real-time control systems. We monitor all critical parameters (temperatures, pressures, humidity, thermal load, emissions) to ensure the system operates within optimal ranges.
We optimize the use of generated steam by leveraging strategic extractions, thermal recirculations, and residual energy recovery. Each cycle is designed and operated to minimize losses and maximize performance.
Based on analyses of the components used and our knowledge of the facility, we define new strategies to optimize calorific value, moisture content, and cost, while reducing slag formation, improving combustion, and lowering emissions.

Scheduled Maintenance and Performance Testing

At ENSO, we understand that operational reliability is built every day. That is why we implement preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance plans tailored to each facility.

We develop and implement preventive maintenance plans tailored to the plant’s operational regime. This includes periodic inspections of the boiler, turbine, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and auxiliary systems.

Thanks to digital monitoring, we analyze real-time data to anticipate issues, detect wear, or identify performance deviations before they impact the process.

We maintain an inventory of key components and plan technical shutdowns in advance, minimizing downtime and preventing unwanted interruptions.

Environmental Control and Byproduct Valorization

We implement advanced environmental control systems to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize the impact of our activities. Additionally, we apply byproduct valorization strategies—such as for ashes or slags—allowing them to be reintegrated usefully into the value chain, thus promoting circular models that reduce waste.

Our filtration systems, cyclones, and bag filters ensure that the plant operates within legal atmospheric emission limits, complying with local, national, and European regulations.

We implement technologies that capture biogenic CO₂ and valorize it for industrial use. Ashes and slags generated during combustion are also processed and directed to secondary applications, preventing disposal.
We treat feed and cooling water using demineralization, reverse osmosis, and chemical dosing processes. Additionally, we manage effluents with a focus on minimizing water footprint.

Data Processing

At ENSO, we understand that operational reliability is built every day. That is why we implement preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance plans tailored to each facility.
From our operations centers, we continuously monitor the performance of each plant, analyzing key operational and energy parameters in real time. This centralized monitoring allows us to detect deviations, optimize system performance, and anticipate maintenance needs.
We prepare periodic technical reports that compile and analyze the key performance indicators of the facility, including thermal efficiency, operational availability, emission levels, specific energy consumption, cumulative savings compared to the baseline scenario, and actual carbon footprint reduction.
We add value to the energy transition in industry

At ENSO, we don’t just decarbonize processes—we do so from a perspective that integrates safety, traceability, and quality.
