PERTE Project: Solvay Decarbonizes Torrelavega with Biomass and Cogeneration

This flagship project aims to decarbonize the chemical industrial complex of SOLVAY, located in Torrelavega (Cantabria), through two different strategies: industrial self-consumption of energy from a new biomass cogeneration plant, and improving industrial process energy efficiency by implementing a new frequency converter.

It has been funded through the Grants for Comprehensive Action Projects for the Decarbonization of the Manufacturing Industry (PERTE-DI), within the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation for Industrial Decarbonization (Industrial Decarbonization PERTE – L1), under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union and managed by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
