All ENSO group subsidiaries gathered in Jerez for a cross-training day aimed at sharing knowledge and improving the company’s overall perspective.
In its ongoing commitment to developing internal talent and operational excellence, ENSO Energy recently organized a cross-training day for its entire technical and operations team. The objective was to strengthen key skills, foster collaboration across departments, and ensure all employees have the knowledge needed to tackle the challenges of the energy transition.
Objective and Approach of the Day
The training was designed with a cross-functional approach, covering multiple levels and areas of the organization—from plant engineers and maintenance staff to technical support and operations teams—with the goals to:
- Reinforce technical knowledge relevant to the operation and maintenance of renewable installations.
- Enhance project management, teamwork, communication, and operational safety skills.
- Create synergies between different business units (biomass, biogas, waste treatment) and share best practices.
- Align staff with ENSO’s values of sustainability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Content and Methodology
The day included keynote lectures, practical workshops, group dynamics, and experience-sharing sessions. Key topics included:
- Operational techniques in renewable plants: automation, process control, predictive maintenance, and energy optimization.
- Project management and cross-functional work: activities aimed at improving coordination among engineering, civil works, commissioning, and O&M teams, optimizing information flows.
- Safety, quality, and environment: reminders of industrial safety procedures, environmental compliance, incident reporting, and updates on renewable sector regulations.
- Continuous improvement and sustainability culture: reflection on how each employee can contribute to efficiency standards, minimize environmental impact, and improve the value chain of ENSO projects.
ENSO plans to continue this cross-training initiative, turning it into a periodic program within its people development strategy. Future editions are expected to cover specialized topics (plant digitalization, operational data analysis, circular economy) and hybrid formats combining in-person training with online platforms to achieve broader reach.
